Welcome to the UNH Energy Conference Web Site!

The first UNH Energy Conference was sponsored by the UNH Energy Laboratory and took place June 20-21, 2008 at Kingsbury Hall on the Durham campus of the University of New Hampshire.

This page is under construction and will be updated with all the available photos and presentations soon.

Many thanks go out to all those that helped organize the conference, presented during the conference and those that attended for making the event a great success!

This conference was part of a campus-wide effort to promote sustainability on both a personal and societal level, via education, research, and environmentally sound practices on USNH campuses statewide. Attendees included engineers, scientists, industry leaders, public policy makers, environmentalists, legal experts, educators, students, and concerned citizens.

A variety of topics were offered during the conference, with presentations on power-generation technologies, energy storage and distribution systems, transportation, energy efficient end-usage, and public-policy and economic issues. These presentations were approximately 30 minutes long ran during two parallel sessions

A keynote address was given at the end of the first day by Dr. Paul Werbos of the National Science Foundation and a panel discussion concluded the conference. This closing panel was comprised of energy experts from academia, industry, and the NH state government, and they answered questions as well as discussed pertinent energy issues.

The conference was a free event and open to the public thanks to our Sponsors

The UNH Energy Laboratory was just recently started and needs funding.  Several attendees have made donations to the lab after the conference, many thanks to them!  If you wish to make a donation, it can be mailed to the UNH Foundation - Energy Lab, c/o Matthew Carlyon, Elliott Alumni Center, University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH  03824.  Your donation is tax deductible.
