Hitchcock Award

The Leon W. Hitchcock Award is presented to an outstanding junior in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as selected by the faculty of that Department. The funds for the award have been provided by alumni, faculty and friends of the Department in memory of Leon W. Hitchcock, a longtime Professor and Chairman of that Department. The amount of the award is determined by the interest generated by the fund over the past year.

This year Christopher D. Williamson received the award. Chris currently has the top GPA in the class of 1996. His major professional interest area is computer communications systems. In addition to his academic efforts, he works as a technician in the UNH Interoperability Laboratory, he is a Little League baseball umpire during the summer, and plays golf. Before coming to UNH he was a submarine nuclear reactor operator in the US Navy. Chris and his wife currently live in Dover, NH.

The capital in the fund grew this year as the result of additional generous gifts from alumni Richard L. Taylor ('54) and William L. Dalton ('66). If you would like to contribute so that the award will continue to grow, please send your check to:
