These awards have different sets of qualifications but generally involve academic performance as well as other qualities such as leadership, service, need, etc. All of these students deserve congratulations for their excellent records in a difficult curriculum.

It is particularly noteworthy that John Canfield was awarded a McConnell Scholarship since this is a very competitive campus-wide award for academic achievement and service to the University. Typically, four such awards per year are awarded. In 1989 Daphne Hillstrom received a McConnell Scholarship and in 1987 Jim Lang received a McConnell Scholarship -- more evidence that our students rank among the best at UNH.
