UNH-ECE Industrial Associates Program

The annual business meeting of the ECE-IAP took place on May 11 at UNH. Member companies as well as invited companies and agencies were present. The following presentations were made: "Review of Year’s Activities", by John LaCourse; "Machines That Learn", Gordon Kraft; and "Remotely Monitored & Controlled Network Training", by Tom Miller. This year participants were given exclusive time with senior project presenters and their posters and demonstrations.

Dr. Laurence Linnett Joins ECE Faculty

Dr. Laurence Linnett will join the University faculty in October of this year with a joint appointment in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and in the Ocean Engineering Program. Dr. Linnett brings experience in the area of acoustic signal-image processing specifically in multi-beam sonar signal processing and multi-side beam side-scan image processing. Laurence comes from the Department of Computing and Electrical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh, Scotland. His knowledge and experience will benefit the newly formed Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping, which is described by Dean Torbert in the last issue of the Tech Alumni Newsletter.
