... with offices, classrooms, libraries, educational and research laboratories, and technical shops. It's an environment where faculty and staff have a common goal of helping men and women prepare for the future technology challenges.
The ECE Department has an energetic and highly qualified faculty, which can respond to the variety of needs of the increasing "high-tech" activity in the state, region, and nation, as well as offer quality academic programs. Faculty backgrounds are diverse, having been gained in a variety of academic institutions and geographical areas. Faculty research interests are generally broad; however several small groups of faculty have pooled their energies and resources into such areas as robotics and vibration control, computer engineering, neural nets, biomedical engineering, ocean engineering, communication systems, and image processing. Several faculty members have been nationally honored for their professional accomplishments, while others have received the University's and College's highest awards for teaching excellence. The ECE Department's secretarial and technical staff insures that the needs of our students and facilities are promptly addressed.
